Recruitment fees

Three ways to work with us — fees confirmed in writing

Canadian agencies typically charge 15–25% of first-year salary on contingency and 20–35% for retained search. We publish ours.

Contingency · Permanent placement

15%

of first-year salary

Pay only when your hire starts. Our standard model for permanent roles up to $120k.

  • $4,500 minimum fee
  • Shortlist in 5 business days
  • 90-day free replacement
  • Net-30 invoice after start date

Volume · 3+ open roles

From 12%

of first-year salary

For employers filling three or more permanent roles at once — one brief, one account lead, one fee schedule scoped to the project.

  • Scoped per project, in writing
  • Single account lead for every role
  • 90-day free replacement
  • Net-30 invoice per start

Retained · Executive search

20%

of first-year salary

For leadership and hard-to-fill roles above $120k. Dedicated search lead, paid in three instalments.

  • ⅓ on engagement, ⅓ at shortlist, ⅓ at hire
  • Market mapping & salary benchmarking
  • Confidential approach to passive talent
  • 6-month replacement guarantee

All fees in CAD, plus HST. We never charge candidates a fee — this is prohibited under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and we take it seriously.

Our recruitment process

What happens between your brief and their first day

01

Discovery call (day 0)

20 minutes with a Toronto-based account lead: the role, pay band, location, shift pattern, must-haves vs nice-to-haves. Fee agreement sent same day.

02

Sourcing (days 1–3)

Job posted to Indeed Canada, Job Bank, LinkedIn and trade boards; the group’s 7,000-candidate database searched; passive candidates approached directly. International sourcing activated for eligible roles.

03

Screening (days 3–5)

Phone screen, skills test where relevant (e.g. Red Seal verification, QuickBooks assessment), two references, right-to-work check. You receive 3–5 profiles with screening notes.

04

Interviews (week 2)

We schedule, prep candidates and collect feedback within 24 hours of each interview. Most clients interview 2–3 people.

05

Offer & onboarding (week 2–3)

We handle the offer conversation and counter-offer risk, confirm start date and send a 30/60/90-day check-in schedule.

06

Guarantee (first 90 days)

If the hire leaves or is let go inside 90 days, we restart the search at no fee. Our placement retention at 12 months is tracked and shared with every client.

International recruitment & LMIA

When the talent isn’t in Canada yet, we know where it is

With sourcing teams in India, the Gulf and Southeast Asia, we identify candidates for LMIA-supported roles in trades, trucking, hospitality and healthcare support — and hand your immigration counsel a file that’s ready to go. Under our Ontario recruiter licence we recruit foreign nationals for roles paid at or above Ontario’s median hourly wage, and we never charge workers a fee.

  • Candidate pipelines in India, UAE, Philippines
  • Credential pre-checks (Red Seal equivalency, NOC/TEER mapping)
  • Coordination with your immigration lawyer or RCIC
  • Pre-arrival onboarding and settlement guidance
  • Compliant with the EPFNA — zero fees to workers

Frequently asked questions

Questions Canadian employers ask us

What is the difference between contingency and retained recruitment?

Contingency means you pay only when a candidate we introduced starts — our 15% model. Retained means a portion is paid up front to fund a dedicated, exclusive search, typically for senior or confidential roles; we charge 20% in three instalments.

How long does it take to fill a role in Canada?

For most skilled and office roles we aim to deliver a vetted shortlist within five business days and see offers accepted inside three weeks. Specialist trades and licensed healthcare roles can take four to six weeks, longer if LMIA sponsorship is required.

Do you charge candidates?

Never. Charging job seekers a fee is prohibited under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and the Employment Protection for Foreign Nationals Act, and we comply with both.

What happens if the hire doesn’t work out?

Permanent placements carry a 90-day free replacement (six months on retained search).

Which provinces do you recruit in?

We are licensed in Ontario and recruit nationwide — Toronto and the GTA, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Montréal are our most active markets. Where a province requires its own licence we work with a licensed local partner.
