Over half of Canadian small and medium-sized businesses say labour shortages are holding back their growth, and 69% can’t find qualified candidates in their sector (CFIB, 2026). At the same time, Canada carried more than 510,000 unfilled jobs through mid-2026 — with trades, transport and manufacturing roles growing fastest.
The agencies serving that market mostly charge 20–25% of salary and take weeks to deliver a shortlist. VBC North was founded to do the same work with a different cost structure: Canadian account management in the GTA, and sourcing, screening and virtual-assistant delivery teams in India, the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
